2/11/2025: 2025 Urbandale Water Utility 170th St Water Tower Project – Notice to Bidders
Bids are due March 5th, 2025 at 2 pm. The project is anticipated to be performed in the Fall of 2025 or Spring of 2026. This Project Summary is an overview of the entire Project and is intended, but is not guaranteed, to place all project specifics in one location to aid Bidders.
Scope of Work:
Tank Information:
The structure is a 2,000,000-gallon fluted column elevated water storage tank with a low-water level of 102 ft. located at 5027 170th St. in Urbandale, Iowa.
The work includes:
Exterior: High pressure water clean (5,000 to 10,000 psi) and spot power tool clean to a
SSPC-SP11 standard. Apply a three (3) coat epoxy urethane system.
Dry Interior: Spot power tool clean the spot coating failures throughout to a SSPC-SP11 standard. Apply a spot two (2) coat epoxy system to the prepared surfaces.
Foundation: Water clean and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system.
Repairs:
- Install gaskets on the wet interior roof hatches.
- Install handholds at the roof hatches located inside the handrail.
- Replace the mud valve.
- Install a flap gate on the overflow discharge.
- Repair the roof vent pressure vacuum plate.
- Install a roof painter’s railing.
- Replace the dry interior light bulbs.
