Water Rates

The Urbandale Water Utility bills its customers monthly at a rate per thousand gallons water.  A service availability fee is also billed monthly.  The service availability fee covers the non-usage fixed costs associated with an account such as meter maintenance, billing, collection and accounting services.

Domestic water is currently billed at a rate of $5.73 per thousand gallons of water.  Irrigation water is currently billed at a rate of $6.73 per thousand gallons of water.  As irrigation water is not assessed sewer charges, customers still receive a savings of $3.00 per thousand gallons. The service availability fee is based upon the size of meter at the property.  Residential properties are equipped with 5/8″ meters in most instances.  The service availability fee for a 5/8″ meter is $4.50 and the service availability fee for a 1.0″ meter is $7.50.  The service availability fees for meters 1.5″ through 6.0″ range from $15.00-$75.00.
