The Urbandale Water Utility has hydrant meters of various sizes available for rent on a first come, first serve basis. A refundable deposit based upon meter size is required. Current deposit prices are listed in the Urbandale Water Utility’s Fee Schedule. The hydrant meters may be checked out from the Urbandale Water Utility’s office at 3720 86th Street. Only a hydrant meter rented from the Urbandale Water Utility may be used on the fire hydrants located within Urbandale city limits.
In lieu of renting a hydrant meter, the Urbandale Water Utility also has a water salesman available to distribute bulk water twenty-four hours a day. The water salesman is located next to the Urbandale Public Library at 3310 86th Street.
